As a leader of your society, you are invited to take part in the worldwide observance of the 2010 World Voice Day, April 16.

On behalf of the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, we are pleased to announce our website featuring World Voice Day at http://www.entnet.org/worldvoiceday. Please respond below if you plan to take part in World Voice Day.

Every year on April 16, otolaryngologists and other voice health professionals worldwide join together to recognize World Voice Day. World Voice Day encourages men and women, young and old, to assess their vocal health and take action to improve or maintain good voice habits.

For the 2010 observance with the theme “Love Your Voice,” the Academy is excited to work with the international community to promote this timely and significant health observance. Our Academy’s World Voice Day team, Clark A Rosen MD, Norman D Hogikyan, MD, and Michael M. Johns III, MD, and have worked hard with our Communications staff to develop attractive patient materials, including a podcast and an interactive quiz. There is no charge for using these materials.

New resources will be available to national societies like yours by early March to help their members promote the event within their practices, in their communities, and with the media.

We encourage you to post the links on your society’s website and forward this announcement to your society members by email or newsletter. If you wish to translate this for your members, please send us the translation for our records.
